Hannah and Keith Kullberg’s Better Bean is a family-run business dedicated to inspiring people to eat more beans. Using Northwest grown ingredients, they skillet sauté their red and black beans, pack them fresh and sell them refrigerated to maintain their homemade taste. Enjoy a superfood that’s high in protein, antioxidants, fiber, minerals and folate.
Inspired by a trip to Mexico while in college, Keith Kullberg developed a recipe for vegan refried beans. The recipe became a family favorite that he raised his two daughters on. Four years ago, aiming to make an impact on the world, Keith turned to his beans, realizing there were no fresh, ready to eat beans on the market. Now the family is sharing five of its beans recipes with other families who have fallen in love with their fresh, tasty, easy and healthy beans.
Keith and Hannah Kulberg are the owners of The Better Bean Company in Wilsonville, OR whose product line includes Uncanny Refried Black Beans, Rethought Red Beans, Three Sisters Chili, Cuban Black Beans and Wholly Chipotle Bean Dip. Their beans are fresh, ready to eat and vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, low-glycemic, low-sodium, and non-GMO verified. With high quality ingredients and simple spices mostly grown in the Northwest, Better Beans are perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cook them up with eggs, serve them with rice or eat them straight out of the tub as a snack!
“From the beginning, we were committed to using the highest quality natural and organic non-GMO ingredients sourced within our region,” says Keith. “We create positive relationships with our employees, vendors and customers and offer them a level of transparency that speaks to our common goal of creating social change and producing a tasty and healthy product.”
