Be Red Cross Ready
Aug. 29th, 2018 - Sep. 11th, 2018
It is important to prepare for possible disasters and other emergencies. Natural and human-caused disasters can strike suddenly, at anytime and anywhere. There are three actions everyone can take that help make a difference: Get a kit. Make a Plan. Be informed. In support of September being National Preparedness month, Haggen had partnered with the American Red Cross. Your donations ensure that the American Red Cross can assist with local and regional emergencies. Donate at any register August 29 through September 11.
Kickoff BBQ – August 29
Join us for a Red Cross Ready Kickoff BBQ on Wednesday, August 29 from 2-6 p.m. with Hempler’s & 92.9 KISM 2-6 p.m. We’ll be grilling up Fletcher’s Mariner dogs. All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross.
Do you have a family game plan? As part of National Preparedness Month this September, establish a plan with these steps below:
- Get a Kit – start with non-perishable, easy-to-open food and 1 gallon of water per person per day (2-week supply for home). Add a first aid kit, medications, a flashlight, extra batteries, comfort items and hygiene products. Include necessary supplies for infants, those with medical needs and family pets. For a complete list, visit redcross.org/kit
- Make a Plan – create and practice an emergency plan so your family will know what to do in a crisis. This includes understanding which emergencies are likely to happen where you live: home fire, earthquake, etc. Identify responsibilities for each family member and PRACTICE as much as possible.
- Download Red Cross Apps – they include tools and preparedness information you need every day. From First Aid, to Pet Care, quick access to Blood Drives and Emergency notifications. Available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
